We started off our Easter weekend reflecting on what our savior did for us. What a sweet time sharing and watching our children learn how much the Lord loves them. there were several times I had to swallow a lump in my throat as I read from the Jesus story book bible and they sat wide eyed thinking about what he suffered, for them. We made "resurrection rolls" with them ..using cresent rolls( which signify the cloth they wrapped his body in), marsh mellows( which signify his body, free from sin), cinnamon and sugar( representing the spices they put on his body) you roll the mellow in the cinnamon and sugar and then wrap in the roll and bake. While it was baking, Tyson read the story straight from the bible. Let me say, there is nothing much sweeter than watching your kids listen while you husband reads God's word to them, esp. the story that our entire faith is based upon.
Once the rolls are done, they look like this. The tomb is EMPTY!!!! He is ALIVE!!!!!

Easter.
It was a different one this year. But good. My parents were OOT at my sister's meeting their newest grandbaby, which left us with no family in town.
But we went and spent the day with some friends who also have no family in town and had a nice relaxing day full of candy and good talks. and candy.
BUT, we know that the real meaning behind this day is Our Lily of the Valley, our bright and morning star, the fairest of ten thousand to our souls.
Me and the love of my life.. I seriously fall more in love with him everyday.

My beautiful little, well, not so little, boys.
My sweet precious little girls on Easter.
5 blessings in my life.
and now, on to some prayer requests... I wont share all the details, but Aeva's little sisters are currently in Foster care in Oregon. As it stands, if they are not allowed to go back with their mother, we will be getting a call. to which we will be answering, yes. There are a lot of things the Lord will have to work out, but we are fully trusting in him to work all things together for good.

Also, Tyson has a new job opportunity that I will share more about later. If you can just pray that we would trust in the Lord with all out hearts and lean NOT on our own understanding, to acknowledge HIM on all our ways, so He can direct our paths. We would covet your prayers.

I LOVE your empty tomb object lesson. So fun. :) That would be a fun thing to do with Cubbies. :)
Some year.
And the kids look adorable. I am thankful that you are intentional about teaching them truth. :)
It doesn't matter how many times we say Easter isn't about Candy or eggs...... it's about Jesus n Cubbies.. the very next week when we ask again, "What is Easter really about?" they still come up with the wrong answer.
