GRANDMA'S HANDS

I love my grandmas hands, they are beautiful to me.

they bring back such memories, things that I can almost see.

Like playing jacks or paper dolls, with Grandma on the floor,

or helping can a million peaches, it seemed there was always more.

Sleepovers and Othello were some of the things I liked best,

and watching Strawberry Shortcake while Grandma took a rest.

I remember the wooden spoon that hung up on the wall,

and if Grandpa had to use it, well, that wasn't good at all.

Watching grandma's hands while she did her long, long hair,

wondering how she fit it all under that bonnet up there.

I used to watch her iron, and sew button's on Grandpa's shirts,

I remember being SO amazed she made ALL of her skirts.

I can see her sitting at the table, her bible open wide,

she loved the Lord the most, that she didn't hide.

Her hands were always gentle and patient with me,

even though I know sometimes I was naughty as can be.

I love my Grandma's hands, this I can truely say,

and how they showed me Jesus every single day.

I love you Grandma. Happy Birthday.

So sweet - and love the shot that you got. Looks like it could be a stock photo but I love that it was while you were spending time with her! I love that you get to reflect and share with her while she's still here on this earth...sweet.
