It was a little crazy, but we got 2 snows days out of it.We played lots of games and watched lots of movies and just plain relaxed. It was AWESOME.
Cadoo. It's so fun. It's a kid version of cranium. They kid's love it, and the girls WON!
Here's a little of what it looked like outside while we were playing. Winds were blowing like CRAZY and it was snowing so hard, it was covering the door when I opened it.
Now, with being couped up in the house together for 2 days straight, you begin to see things in your kids that you don't really think is good. A few times in our lives as parents, we have suddenly realized things aren't right. We've been to lenient for too long. And things need to change. This was one of those times. So, we went to Walmart, picked up some poster board, and pulled out the age old trick of a discipline chart. ( i totally remember my mom doing this one occation too!) Today was day one of all these rules. And while it is SO helpful to have the consequences for actions in place, it means you MUST follow though with said consequences.
Which, in turn, made today a VERY long day. I am sad to say, EVERY rule was broken at least once at one point today. BUT, I am happy to say, they all took the consequences well, because I could show them, right there on the wall, what we established together to be the consequences to that action. HARD, but good.
Max made me smile today. He had an opportunity to lie to me about something, but instead, told the truth. When I questioned why he did what he did, He replied, " I don't know....but I don't get a spanken right? Because I told the truth? I should get a star."
I hope they get these rules down fast....sigh.:)
I am kinda nervous.
Tomorrow, I am taking all the family pictures for a directory for our church.
OH, the pressure.!!:)
Pray for me, that I will have calm nerves and realize, perfection isn't the idea behind this directory, it is for relationships within the body of our church.
Anyway, here are a few pictures from today when I was messing around with it.
